Despite the current government shutdown, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum will continue to operate normal business hours. While the Memorial is an affiliated site of the National Park Service, it is privately owned and operated by the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation. Due to the shutdown, National Park Rangers will not be on site.
We will offer FREE admission to all Federal employees throughout the government shutdown (extended through Sunday, Jan 27th), regardless of whether they have been furloughed or are otherwise affected. For FREE admission, Federal Workers should show their ID at the admissions desk.
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum remains open during all government shutdowns because it is not a government entity. It does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Earnings from an endowment, Museum sales, private fundraising and the OKC Memorial Marathon allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining. The Memorial is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Museum hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday from noon to 6:00pm.
