Gary Shelton, is a retired 24-year veteran of the Norman Police Department. As a Regional Representative for the Oklahoma School Security Institute, a division of the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, Shelton is responsible for performing school security assessments to school sites in his region, promoting awareness of the Oklahoma School Security Tipline Program, and instructing school security training courses statewide in Strengthening Law Enforcement-to-School Relations, Security Training for School Bus Drivers, and Tactical Communications in the School Environment.

This workshop is designed to train education professionals (administration, faculty, and staff) to properly prepare and respond to an active shooter attack on their campus. School Resource Officers are welcome to participant and elements of the school’s emergency operation plan are performed.
